OPEN OFFICE 3:
WYSIWYG html......well YES
I don't know how many times I have seen people complaining that there are no Open Source Drag and Drop WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web creation programs on the net. Well there is and has been for years in Open Office. The latest version of which has several ways of doing this. The results may not be as good as Dreamweaver and you have restrictions, but when you learn how to use it, its very easy and its FREE.

The first method is this easy:
Step1: Start Open Office.

Choose File > HTML Document
You will see a page like the one on the left
Step2: On the Menu bar click the Insert Image Icon and scroll through to choose an Image you wish to place on the screen as below.
Step 3: Click your right mouse button over the Image and choose Anchor > To Page from the pop up menu as below.
If you hold the Image with your Left mouse button you can Drag and Drop the Image anywhere on the page.
Step4: From the main top menu choose Insert > Frame. The dialog on your right will open up. Click the Anchor To Page option. Leave the other settings as they are: but note that you have options to set Background Colors, Borders etc. then press the OK button.
Next you will see a small Frame at the top of your page as in the Image above. You can Drag this Frame anywhere on the page by holding down your Left mouse button. You can also Resize the Frame to any Length or Height by using the green control handles as below.
Step5: Now click OFF the Frame so it is not highlighted. Then Click inside the frame and you will see a cursor. Now you can start typing as on the right.
You can highlight the Text and change the Font and The Font size as you would do with any Text editing Program as in the image on the right and below.
You can keep adding Frames and Images and using the Drag and Drop facility to arrange the page however you like. Refer Below . NOTE: Make sure that no existing Frames are Highlighted when you add a new Frame .
Make sure your Images are in the same folder as your web saved html file.
Step6: To add a Hyperlink, highlight some text as on right .
Then click on the Hyperlink button.
In the Pop up dialog type in your hyperlink.
You can also create a Web site using the Web wizard in Open Office. File > Wizards > Web from the main menu. The Wizard menu allows you to add Open Office documents to compile a web site, follow the propts and it will do the rest.
Alternatively you can use Open Office Draw to create a slideshow of as many pages you like. Choose Export as HTML and a Wizard will appear. Again just follow the prompts and a whole Web site will be created for you including navigation menu and all. All of these options allow you to create your Web Pages in a WYSIWYG Drag and Drop environment.......what more do you want ?
Choose Save as and save the file as HTML document in the same folder as the images you use on the site.
